Hello!
My name is Anna, and I am a registered art psychotherapist based in Liverpool. I offer individual art therapy sessions either face to face or online, for adults and children, and also therapeutic art groups based on different themes. I am also a practicing artist and share and sell my artwork online.
My Story
Originally from Devon, I moved to Liverpool almost 20 years ago to study BA Drama and Theatre Studies at Liverpool Hope University, and I never looked back. Liverpool is a wonderful city filled with incredible places, an amazing art scene, and the warmest people. I absolutely love it.

After completing my undergraduate degree I worked in various creative roles in and around Liverpool. These included organising and managing creative festivals and music events, many years at the Bluecoat arts centre where I facilitated and supported a variety of internal and community outreach projects, and time delivering a wide range of creative art events and workshops on a self-employed basis. I also worked in primary schools supporting children and young people, and as a mixed media artist fulfilling commissions and selling my artwork at markets and online.

Time spent working with various client groups in a creative capacity inspired me to become an art therapist, as I was increasingly aware of and fascinated by the therapeutic benefits of creative engagement, both on a personal and professional level. I undertook an MA in Art Therapy at the University of Chester, and this resulted in me working with even broader client groups such as members of the LGBTQ+ community, and end-of-life hospice patients and their families. Most recently I have been working as a Team Lead at the Young Persons Advisory Service (YPAS), where I managed a small team of therapists as well as my own complex case load of young people aged 5-25.

I love my job, and enjoy meeting and working with new people. My work is entirely bespoke, client-focussed, trauma-informed, and creative, and I pride myself on being non-judgemental and entirely inclusive. I am a full member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) and am HCPC registered.
